Art Direction and Design for Networked: The 5G Future — a podcast hosted by technology journalist Christina Warren.

The Problem

Verizon aspires to be seen as a facilitator of innovation — a company that actively pushes the boundaries of technology and shapes the future. But can they bridge the gap between their role as a network provider and the cutting-edge image they desire?

The Insight

Technology touches every part of our lives, and is now the foundation to many things we enjoy. But at the end of the day, it isn’t about the technology — it’s about what it makes possible.

The Strategy

Create a compelling dialogue to deliver insights about the ways this revolutionary technology can help change the way we work, live, and thrive.

The Creative Idea

With 5G Ultra Wideband, innovators can make a bigger impact. T Brand created a custom podcast featuring experts across industries like healthcare, gaming, music and sports, to gain an understanding of the problems Verizon 5G can help solve and take a peek into the future.

The Work

In a series of six, 25-minute episodes, host Christina Warren, an American technology journalist and developer advocate, escorts listeners on a tour of innovation’s biggest challenges. On the way, Warren talks with a mix of industry experts — such as the CEO of ZocDoc and the builders behind Pokémon GO — to unearth real-world challenges, and learn how 5G can help these innovators have bigger impact.

To highlight Verizon’s dedication in driving technological advancement, T Brand developed a stylistic approach that was sophisticated and intelligent. Using a primarily grayscale palette and conceptual approach, the curious compositions beg the question, “What’s around the corner?”

The Results

Networked: The 5G Future exceeded benchmarks in key performance areas, bringing Verizon valuable awareness and engagement with its 5G messaging. The on–site landing page retained attention for two minutes and 36 seconds – over 2.9 times the benchmark of 0.53 minutes –  and exceeded page view KPIs by 114.94%. In the first month of flight, the show was downloaded 16,280 times on third-party platforms and rose to No. 8 in Apple Podcasts “Technology” category.
